Pretty striking how different these two reviews are.

Framework has said that certain reviewers (such as the verge) got earlier samples which had more problems, such as keyboard flex or higher than expected heat/fan noise. They have said that many of these hardware issues are not present with mass production units, and as for the software they are still updating firmware/drivers.

Based on some of the reviews and FW's own comments, the keyboard flex is certainly not universal as FW didn't even seem to know about the issue prior,, and iirc same for the screen issue. Even if these problems are still present for mass production (which i find unlikely but it is possible), by the time you or i (batch 7) get ours, it should be fixed. Also, based on some of nrp's comments elsewhere in this thread (and a pinch of guesswork), it looks like batches 11+ are looking at sometime between April and June.

I can't say anything about the touch pad bit, it isn't my personal preference but i understand the appeal, but the screen is matte.

We actually do have an "English International - Linux" keyboard option that has a Super key instead.

Is there an ISO variant of the above?

Yup, comparing to a similarly priced MacBook that goes for ~20 hours it's ridiculously bad.

Pretty much every other index and amd laptop suffers with poor battery life. I get about 4-5 hours on the chromeos variant of this laptop.

Sorry, didn't notice the reply; if you let it running for a few while eventually it'll collect enough samples to show you the power consumption of the processes you have running in the terminal UI. Then you just look at the top ones in the list and see if there's a way to reduce power consumption, or quit using them altogether. I haven't used it enough to figure out how the reports work.
