Sidestepping the issue of the US's labour laws, I almost feel like this is what a healthy software industry should look like . You go in, you build, and when the job is done, you leave. We just haven't figured out how to get the job done yet.
If only employers are capable of communicating that expection to prospective employes in an honest manner instead of doing the whole "we are a family" gaslighting act.

Then it isn't even really smart or a shuffle. It just inserts the same 3 songs, in every playlist regardless of how well it would fit.

I am sure curl does too, with one guy running it. Spotify is not a telephone company. The engineering work hardly scale with the amount of users. There should be a need for some extra sales staff, lawyers and translators per market.
Their engineer staff numbers are just silly.
