#392Starlight | Senior Full-Stack Engineer | REMOTE (US), NYC preferred I’m the Head of Engineering at Starlight, and we’re hiring a senior full-stack engineer. We build software that helps financial institutions connect people with government benefits they’re eligible for. More than $100B in benefits go unclaimed every year because the underlying systems are fragmented and difficult to navigate. We’re trying to change t…

#393We recently raised a $54M Series B led by Accel with participation from Kleiner Perkins, Felicis, Altos Ventures, and YC.
Permitting is a challenging yet interesting problem; thousands of municipalities across the United States have their own processes and requirements - many which are continually updating. Software, AI, and LLMs provide an exciting opportunity for us to reason at scale and distill a nuanced and localized permitting process into a standard and streamlined experience for our customers.
We're looking for customer-obsessed, ambitious, and hard-working teammates who are excited about solving a real-world problem with technology at its helm.
NYC Onsite Roles | apply at: https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/permitflow?departmentId=d33195eb-89...
1. Staff Software Engineer - $200K-275K + equity
2. Fullstack Software Engineer - $125-245K + equity

#394Valkyrie Aero is a DoD prime contractor. We're building an airborne system for a manned counter-drone aircraft (that we operate) to enable a crew to find and engage Group 2-3 drones at low cost. Hiring contract software engineers for three roles:
- Software Engineer, Autonomy
- Software Engineer, Perception
- Software Engineer, Frontend (HMI)
We’re a small team (for now) so this isn’t your traditional defense program. Bureaucracy kept to the absolute minimum. If you can work across more than one of these domains that’s a huge plus.
I'm on the engineering team and read every application myself. I do not use AI to screen your applications and will read and reply to every single one; but please don’t send over walls of LLM generated text, I’d much rather be communicating with humans!
Apply: https://valkyrie-aero.breezy.hr/ and mention HN in your application.

found your thread – your email covers things you did, but nothing about "why Puma" or other simple questions we ask. seems like one sided, generic mass application. impressive background, but didn't seem like you care about what we're building.
I guess you found the wrong thread. 1. I received a question about my schedule (meaning: no other questions asked), I answered and received no further response. 2. I applied using your own template {a note on what you're most proud of building and what you'd like to build next}. My application was absolutely not generic mass application 3. I sent you several things I’m proud of. Among them were: - A Product I build (…
instead of bumping the email thread you decide to put this all publicly. ok. but if you want to be pedantic, our HN post includes "what you'd like to build next?" which you conveniently skipped.
if you read our website, the application there includes "Why I’m interested to join Puma?".
you seem to care much more about being right than making progress or being helpful. i hope you change your approach since you clearly can build things.

#396I've created a small page to help you navigate this thread better, because the sites linked above weren't categorizing the jobs well enough: https://hnhiring.stavros.io For example, my page lets you search for "remote - unrestricted" to get jobs that allow remote everywhere.

Same here, sent and email 3 times across the last 2 years, no reply
your first two application were generic and ignored the few basic questions that we ask in the posting, thus subsequent one didn't get reviewed
I'll be honest, it's not looking good for you
