It's bigoted because it's exclusionary state for Jews, most everyone else is second class, including people on defacto annexed lands in the rest of former Palestine. If my worldview required me to dismiss 40% of American Jews as being "confused and brainwashed" to explain away why they would possibly be critical of Israel, I hope I would start questioning wether I was the one "confused and brainwashed" instead.

As someone leaning left with big disagreements with the US right atm, I think the right in America would feel the same way if they felt their country's foreign, and to some extent domestic, policy was being hijacked by a small country in sub-Saharan Africa, or Asia (or Europe for that matter). They signed up for America First.

Well the Morocco lobby and the Cuba exile lobby (CANF) are both pretty powerful and both explicitly model themselves after AIPAC. CANF also isn't registered under FARA (though the Morocco one is). Admittedly, neither of them are nearly as powerful as AIPAC

I think there is a huge shift in hackernews as of late (as other mainstream media as well) where such discussions happen, not necessary encouraged. I'm shocked to see the difference between 2023 and today.

Mods will almost always turn off flagging for stories if you email them. I think it's too easy to flag something to death and not enough people know they can just email the mods
