I just clicked on an ad in ChatGPT mobile app. As per the press release, it opens up a screen which takes up 90% showing the new site. It's not a good browsing experience, as it's not a 100% full screen so smaller on an already small phone screen. Couldn't see a 'open in browser' option.

I wish there were a way to universally ban these embedded browser flows. Aside from oauth they serve no use to the end user and are primarily designed to inflate company engagement numbers. Nearly every time I end up in one and forget to click through to browser I regret it.

Apple, why do you allow companies to abuse your customers like this?

Oh, this appeared late in my feed.

I personally like the ability to filter my own results by promoting, demoting or blocking certain domains to filter lower quality results further. Same for image search which can also filter out AI generated images.

Also, I find lenses very useful (which is a way to limit your search radius) to search for specific things in the specific parts of the internet. i.e. you can define a lens with specific websites for a subject, and if you need something precisely, you can only search these websites.

I recently started to use SlopStop reporting to weed out AI generated webpages from search results, too.

Lastly, all AI features are opt-in. No summaries, no widgets, no extra "bells and whistles" if you don't want on your result page.

Yandex is only for image search. Implementing a "I don't want to fund Yandex" option would solve the problem for customers trying not to fund this war.

This would even lower the cost of the user's actions.

I think you need to research US foreign policy. They are literally trying to do that with Iran. They helped Israel do it to the Palestinians. Not to take away from the Ukraine atrocities but US is just as bad as Russia.
