There’s an OpenAI slide deck sitting in Goldman’s IPO preparation department right now with a pair of bullet points that read >Q3 2027, introduce ‘ad-enhanced’ paid subscription tier >Q2 2029, complete ad rollout to all paid subscribers

Kagi is not only an ad-free subscription. It’s a mental budget booster. Knowing there are no ads and results are higher quality removes a mental load I didn’t know I was carrying. It’s possibly the single most impactful thing in my digital life. Thanks for everything, and please keep doing what you’re doing.

At least in this configuration ads are separate from answers. I fear there will come a time where ads will be intermingled in the response tokens. In fact SEO people on SEO forums have been talking about how to inject products into training for many months; but at some point the model operators will offer this directly.

Because ads will no longer look like ads. Model bias from the highest bidder, what fun. This is exactly why OAI and Anthropic enjoy spreading FUD about open weight models.
Calling it model bias is as disingenuous as calling newspaper ads media bias.
