AI. Make money on the implementation and maintenance not the api tokens. Tech companies have gotten fat and Happy on recurring revenue. But they are abusing the trust users have placed in them. I feel a back lash in a way I’ve never experienced.
I think AI labs are assuming that if they build and serve intelligence every one will want it. I think the last month has resulted in a lot of people saying “f u I would rather fail in life than serve you”. I personally went from feeling excited and optimistic about building amazing things on top of the models to hell bent on being self reliant and lots of my friends are doing the same.

China didn't renege on its treaty with Ukraine who is in Europe? American isn't sanctioning Russia's oil? China isn't buying Russia's oil?
For Ukraine, America has treated them far worse than China, humiliating its leader, buying Russian oil, publicly agreeing with Putin, telling Ukraine to just give up its land and people, charging Ukraine for its support, trying to bend Ukraine over a barrel for mineral rights in exchange for weapons, I could go on.
China does what it says it will do. The US lies to your face and does what it wants to. One of these is a far easier country to deal with.

Not really, the genetic contribution of Danes to modern English DNA is somewhere 0-10%. There was some merging but pretty marginal.
They were the ruling class of half of England for a significant period. That is not marginal. It influenced laws, culture and language, though later displaced by the Normans who also had a profound impact. Were the Normans also marginal as they did not have a huge genetic impact?

Here in Australia the sudden withdrawal of Fable made all of us think hard about models and harnesses. I've heard half a dozen people talk about how a less advanced model coupled with a better harness outperforms a smarter model in the last few weeks. If the USA wanted to shoot its AI industry in the foot it achieved its goal.
Which products are you now using?
I'm looking at a few, haven't made my mind up yet.
Opencode looks like the most promising host, though there's also OpenRouter. OpenCode Go pricing is hard to beat.
Pi looks like the best harness/tool, or I could continue with claude but not use Anthropic's models/hosting, though that has the same risks that I'm trying to move away from.
GLM looks like the best model at the moment, but I think the key is building a workflow that can switch model at will.
Docker desktop sandboxes will work with all of them, so no change there.
Getting them to work together looks like a bit of effort but not too difficult.
