I wouldn't trust an "Excel guy" who said that, they aren't staying current/using new functionality. Just off the top of my head: IFNA, FORMULATEXT, DAYS, CONCAT, IFS, SWITCH, XLOOKUP/XMATCH, FILTER, UNIQUE, LET, TEXTBEFORE/TEXTAFTER, LAMBDA, et al. I don't get Microsoft (and in some ways Apple and Google). Huge companies with humongous amount of engineers. Many very capable people.

They can't find 5 to build a native app for a platform used by a billion people?

Like really now? Why the f is this a web app? What's the point of an OS then?

1. You can run selective rules, but when you have a whole bunch, running all is more sensible.

2. When you select a slot in the calendar screen and press delete, the only options you get are cancel and decline.

All this is applicable for the PWA. The native client works fine.

That's a different point? This one is about what you do about it

I had already done lots of things to make Windows less in the way of what I wanted to do. It was this Calculator app thing, plus the constant reconfiguring of settings (at install time and sometimes after updates) to turn off a whole swathe of Windows services that serve Microsoft, not the user.

Calculator was the final straw.

I actually use the old calculator on my work computer, and it's still not as fast to load as it was 20 years ago (but my work computer is also chock full of 'security' software, so runs like a pig).

Pretty sure something in your hardware failing

We regularly buy dell latitudes or ThinkPad TPX series NEW ones for a large University. 100% Linux only usage.

Usual sleep/resume problems. No other problems

All problems with gfx you state are often listed in all dell forums - with windows.

Aliexpress style mini HT PC are always with poor drivers - even on Windows. Not just bazzite.

3 Words: Dell Docking Stations

LOL, preach. Work worst with Dell XPS series (have to power cycle the laptop so the dock would display something again), work better with ThinkPad and Framework laptops.

They're at least free :)

I have 5 computers at home, running Mac, Windows, and Ubuntu Linux. I've been using PC's regularly since the 286 age, and Windows 11 is terrible, I don't want to logon to your online services in any shape or form.

The windows operating system does more to disrupt my work flow than it does to assist it, the WSL layer so you can do any development helps, but I'm only using Windows at this point for games, and even then I barely play them so I'm mostly running Windows on one of my systems because it is already installed.

If apple / linux up the game support I would most likely never use Windows again.
