No, you don't lol. You do realize both the algorithm to decompress the media, and the media as well can be stored alongside, right? Including. any instructions to actually use that media.

That's what backups and RAID arrays are for. We certainly know by now how to build a redundancy that will guaranty the data safety. Not an option. Rooting the device voids the warranty. It's not a reasonable thing to ask the average person.

Check out Arweave. It's not quite as tested as something like BitTorrent but 'perpetual endowments' in theory make data on Arweave persist "forever"
