The rate of myocarditis is much higher if you get Covid than if you get the vaccine . So indirectly getting vaccine will lower your risk since of heart disease as everyone will eventually get covid.
This is competely wrong. See https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2021.12.23.21268276v...

The paper literally describes taking this into account.
Indeed thanks, although I understand they didn't make distinct groups according to status, which would have made results more convincing.
Assuming you are a software engineer. You know how sometimes a manager, layperson or junior says something like "Why are you making things so complicated by using git. We can just share the code on Dropbox?" Or maybe a student says "Why do arrays start at 0? It's so much simpler to start at 1." Well other professions have their own version of that situation. As a non-researcher it is not always going to be obvious why research methodology seems more complicated or specific than it needs to be.

#103Seems impossible to tell if this holds for omicron as well, given that it's replication behavior and general outcome is a bit different and usually more mild.

Quick edit: while I was skimming the paper someone else commented exactly this excerpt, hehe.

One has to be incredibly lucky to not get Covid at some point, now that it has become endemic.
COVID is not endemic.
I think most people just mean that it is now established and won't go away. That it will be a constant presence in our lives.
I believe epidemiologists also require that infection rates remain roughly constant and don't exhibit wild swings in infection numbers.
I guess we're still in an epidemic.

#110COVID and the autoimmune response to it damages the endothelial layer of your cardiovascular systems. https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/ATVBAHA.121.316101 and https://www.nature.com/articles/s41392-021-00819-6 The big question is how quickly and completely can that layer restore itself? If damage accumulates over time and people are catching new variants every 3-4 months it is only a matter of time before morta…
