There was a substantial amount of hard evidence in the Russia interference claims, and the FBI has confirmed that.
Also nobody died in relation to those claims, AFAIK. There were marches and impeachment proceedings, but nobody broke into the Senate chambers and shouted "that election was a lie".

Absolutely. The only reason Parler is getting banned and Facebook isn't is because Facebook is too big to fail. Facebook and Twitter have the same amount of questionable content, just better PR and bigger clout.
I'd argue Facebook is doing something to remove problematic content ("Good Samaritan" section of the Section 230). Definitely not enough and there are myriads of ways that they can improve, but that's clearly different to Parler that does next to nothing.

There are a lot of higher steps, just look at US history. For example, the mob could murder someone. In the bad old days of civil rights resistance, the mob would regularly engage in homicide against targets they thought were upsetting their power.

Not only that, but people like you and me who comment in defense of it are fading from the major platforms. For each of us who grew up with free speech as the cornerstone right in a free and just society, there seem to be many others who did not ever care about this, or actively seek to destroy it for the benefit of their own group.
It's worth remembering just how many warnings that this would happen eventually we have been left historically. Centuries of being reminded that people would come for these rights if we did not defend them. I never thought it was going to have to be our generation, though.

You're proposing to remove a very large, very alienated group's last public channel to express themselves peacefully. This risks further escalation. This is compounded with the stark contrast to how the protests were handled this summer.
