This means lots of casual exhibitionists will be reluctant to upload. It will probably cut uploads to a tiny fraction of what they were. Which could well be a net negative (I'm assuming both the viewers and exhibitionists get something out of it) given how small the positives are.

You're saying it like it's a bad thing. Phub already has a process where content creators can ask their content to be verified directly. No platform should have porn on it without being able to source the origin of that content, period. (US) Studios have to retain a list of performers legally, I don't see why these free pornsites shouldn't. Countless lives have been destroyed because of revenge porn uploaded on these websites.

Apple don't have any editorial control of iOS Safari, and I doubt they'd ever reject an app because of a website trying to force you to use it.

I believe the point they are trying to make is Reddit is tying access to pornography to installing the app, thus making an explicit connection between porn and their app, while Apple bans apps featuring adult content from the app store completely.

Not disagreeing with you, but, to be fair, that was exactly Youtube's recipe for success, and still is to some extent. I never understood how Youtube could get away with that.

I don't know what porn are you watching, but there is not much about relationships (in fact, lot of porn is specifically about fantasies of being unfaithful).

And that's the main problem with OP's post. If you have unsatisfied sexual needs, it's awful to suggest that you should attempt at relationships (or even start a family) for that reason. No, people should do these things because they genuinely want to have them, and not to pretend they want them just for a bit of nudge nudge.

I am grateful for porn existing, because it lets me not to have a (sexual) relationship if I don't need the emotional component. I think it's more honest that way, actually.

And who is the arbiter of "what sex should be"? Perhaps porn is providing the much needed service of expanding our definitions of sex, which had been brutally restrained by prudish mores for most of Western civilization.

That sex should look more like porn is quite a dystopian future for women. I think expanding our definitions of sex is a good thing, but that doesn't mean there should be no restraints either.

Why do you consider it a hit piece? The main allegation that illegal content was on PornHub is based on facts, right?

Illegal content is on Facebook, Twitter, Reddit. The question is if and when it is removed. There are people accusing all of those sites of irresponsibility when it comes to moderating. But roughly, there seems to be no strong evidence that Pornhub did not remove illegal content they became aware of.

More generally, the question is if a porn-site that allows anyone to upload stuff should be legally viable. You may feel that it should not. But make no mistake, Laila Mickelwait wants to shutdown the porn industry, not improve Pornhub.

Presumably you may have seen CP and just not been aware of it. Once you reach a certain point, you can't reliably tell someone's age by looking, even when you can literally see every part of them.
