Ive watched porn all my life (like most). I dont have a moral vendetta against it. But it seems to be a no-go topic for discussing the serious societal issues from porn. As I've grown older ive realized its really very toxic and probably the most widespread addiction in the US causing real issues. When you watch porn all day or even just a few times per week, your testosterone and hormonal balance as a man changes. Y…

> You do not go after a woman and start a family Almost all male friends of mine who had admitted watching porn, are either in a relationship or married. I don’t know if they “went after women”, though; it doesn’t sound like the right way to pursue love. Some admitted to watching porn even after marriage.

I know plenty of couples who watch porn together, married and otherwise.

Pretty silly what they have to do in order to make the keyholders happy. Should MC and Visa really dictate how people make their business? I don't think so. Sure CP is very, very bad but I have been using Pornhub for many years and I have never seen such content on the platform. This is one big reason why I think decentralized currencies like bitcoin one day could succeed. IMO, this is the golden quote: > Pornhub's a…

Third-party foundations finding legitimate instances of sexual abuse of children is going to be incredibly rare because how would you ever tell 18 and 17-year-olds apart? Facebook has much more information available to them and they are aggressively checking their platform for it, that's why they find so many instances.

IWF have access to billions of images and video of child sexual abuse and they take reports from law enforcement world wide.

They create various filtering databases that can be used by ISPs and companies.

Remember, every time you masturbate God kills a kitten - or you lose a year of your life, or you give yourself ED, or you make yourself a worse lover, or...

These myths are just the bygone product of a sexually restrictive era. Porn has been around since the ancient Greeks and earlier. Most things change your hormonal balances - including eating and going to the gym - it's whether those changes are permanent (they're not).

Porn is like the junk-food of sex. McDonald's french fries are engineered to disintegrate on the tongue and deliver that hit of salt and fat. It hijacks our evolved taste buds in a way that's pleasurable - but not healthy.

Porn is like that but with sex. A little bit won't hurt you, but too much can ruin your sexual health and distort your ideas of what sex should be.

This is undoubtedly a positive move, though I do not believe it will be enough to satisfy the likes of the credit card companies. They are requiring ID verification (i.e. that you're 18 or over) to upload content. As much as I am privacy-minded, the idea that someone could upload an explicit video to Pornhub without verifying that they were 18 is mind-boggling. This is also a net positive for content producers on Por…

This means lots of casual exhibitionists will be reluctant to upload. It will probably cut uploads to a tiny fraction of what they were.

Which could well be a net negative (I'm assuming both the viewers and exhibitionists get something out of it) given how small the positives are.

I'm surprised at how much impact the NYT's expose (I would personally consider it more of a hit piece) has had. I naively assumed that PornHub, as a top-10 site on the web would be immune to such a piece, but I guess I was wrong. How many of the members of the NYT and the Visa and Mastercard boards who created on this outcome watched the videos that are now down? Probably a majority of them, but that wasn't enough to…

I might be missing something here, but if that kind of stuff really is on Reddit then I would want them to be made to take responsibility for having it on their site and suffer the consequences if it is not removed and reported to the authorities.

>You do not go after women and start a family. I think the people in my local area would consider this a good thing. Even just pursuing platonic friendships with women upsets people so I've stopped talking to women altogether and quit all social media despite having little interest in porn

What are you talking about?

What’s worse, Reddit disables NSFW/porn content in Incognito on iOS Safari and prompts you to install the app. How that got past Apple is beyond me.

Apple don't have any editorial control of iOS Safari, and I doubt they'd ever reject an app because of a website trying to force you to use it.

And that usually creates a vacuum for smaller niche sites to pop up and fill the gap.
