#2Pretty silly what they have to do in order to make the keyholders happy. Should MC and Visa really dictate how people make their business? I don't think so.
Sure CP is very, very bad but I have been using Pornhub for many years and I have never seen such content on the platform. This is one big reason why I think decentralized currencies like bitcoin one day could succeed.

In despite the nature of the content on Pornhub and the amount uploaded there is very few instances of CP on the platform which I think speaks to their good work in preventing it.
Now I don't know about piracy but that also seems like something that is.. uncommon?

#3Ive watched porn all my life (like most). I dont have a moral vendetta against it. But it seems to be a no-go topic for discussing the serious societal issues from porn. As I've grown older ive realized its really very toxic and probably the most widespread addiction in the US causing real issues.
When you watch porn all day or even just a few times per week, your testosterone and hormonal balance as a man changes. You do not go after women and start a family. You are more likely to be depressed. It causes brain fog and mood disorders. Etc. Theres some good TED talks on this which are easy to find. This is never talked about and should be. Little off topic maybe but just wanted to state this.

#4I’d like to see some kind of platform penalties that are redistributed toward victims. Pornhub has made millions off things like pirated sex work and revenge uploads, while wiping out legitimate players in the industry and driving down wages and working conditions [0]
Now, having wrought all that destruction, they’re returning to what? Exactly what a regulated, verified industry looks like. It’s unconscionable that we’ve built an economy that equates to “do a lot of crime until you’re a monopoly and then behave as you should have in the first place.”

#6I'm surprised at how much impact the NYT's expose (I would personally consider it more of a hit piece) has had. I naively assumed that PornHub, as a top-10 site on the web would be immune to such a piece, but I guess I was wrong. How many of the members of the NYT and the Visa and Mastercard boards who created on this outcome watched the videos that are now down? Probably a majority of them, but that wasn't enough to stop the moral panic I guess.
As a side note, I think Reddit should now tread very carefully. PornHub had a lot more verification in place for people uploading porn, and even they've now been neutered by a hit piece. Hell, Reddit is somehow still in the iOS App Store despite having copious amounts of porn (and yes, underage porn too even if Reddit will deny it). They're just an opinion columnist's penstroke away from the mob coming to roost.

TEDx is not exactly the same as TED. Just about anyone can organize a TEDx, and lots of cranks give "TEDx talks". There are dozens and dozens of "TEDxes":

These types of "studies" in gaming have been debunked for years, I image the porn "studies" will be as well

#10How to open your own video or image hosting site:
Step 1: Open the site, have no content, get no clicks
Step 2: Pirate everyone else's content
Step 3: Start getting clicks due to the pirated content
Step 4: Continue to spin the flywheel putting more pirated and "user generated" content on your site
Step 5: Start to get more and more legitimate partners
Step 6: Start blocking porn and pirated content. The content that the site was founded on.
Step 7: Congratulations, now you're legit.
Similar to how JFK's father created their fortune via bootlegging during Prohibition.
Congrats PornHub, now all you need to do is go public.
