This is definitely a manufacturing defect with your battery and you should take it in for warranty repair. It should never do that unless the battery is severely degraded (1000+ cycles)

China has people no longer willing to pay for iPhones. Everywhere else it's not changed much year on year. There was great demand for stock buybacks, Apple resisted for a while. I'm surprised to hear a need for 512GB storage, I'd be interested to know how that's used. The upgrade to XS is only minor from the X according to the reviews I've seen/seen summarised. A yearly upgrade isn't common, isn't their target.

The big question is do you really need that high quality of audio on the go? Is spotify/mp3 quality really hurts your ears that badly? I would rather spent money on home audio setup or highend mp3 player rather than pump all that money into iPhone. Plus listening lossless audio on the go in non silent environment seems pointless to begin with because of all the noise around interfering with music.

Exactly my complaints. Awful and notoriously unreliable keyboard. The missing HDMI and USB-A are also stupid but at least it can be solved with a dock or dongle.
Broken keyboard cannot be solved, and they break all the time.
Lets hope the 16” 2019 will fix at least the keyboard...

iTunes is terrible, but you don't have to use it – I got my MBP at Xmas 2014 and still haven't accepted the iTunes EULA.
Is there an alternative tool for managing your iPhone?

#147The article tries its best to sensationalize the fact that Apple, gasp of all people, has a bug it its stuff. The reality is that all software and all devices have bugs. I would prefer a more journalistically honest, non-sensationalist approach to writing. Tell me what the bug is. Tell me what it affects. Tell me how to fix it. Done.
Maybe they're expressing their frustrations with Apple in general, but it is weak to exaggerate.
And I'm unsure if you're an Apple fanboy or not, but you maybe missing the big picture aside from this article: Apple is now just like supermarket produce - pretty, tasteless garbage. The facts are:
- Those low-profile keyboards are loud, uncomfortable and frequently break
- Glued in batteries basically destroyed if removed
- Overpriced
- Many MLB failures causing all sorts of random problems
- Many overpriced dongles required to do anything
- Non-Apple USB-A to -C adapter disconnects WiFi, but works fine on all other brands. Not just one adapter, multiple peripherals cause this issue.
- All sorts of other random quality issues and first year breakages
- No official parts channel
- Hidden/proprietary tools for diagnostics, repair and dead MLB SSD transfer
- Soldered in RAM
- Soldered in SSD
- No available schematics for repair
- Apple declares almost every model "vintage" at six years, preventing repairs and further OS upgrades
In conclusion, if someone is willing to take all this abuse when Apple clearly tells them "FU," what should an observer think? To me, it says: SJ is gone, a bean counter and a Bentley-chauffeured designer don't have a clue, so it's time to give up on Apple's computers until they find some vision and awareness.

There is no comparison between Apple and Lenovo. Apple is notorious for being a closed ecosystem company. They charge a premium price, control the app store, control the hardware, practice planned obsolescence all in the name of "providing a premium user experience". If they are going to overcharge me a "premium tax", they better earn it.
Most linux users expect some problems when deciding to go the linux route. When you decide to use linux as your daily driver, you expect to sometimes get your hands dirty. Also, companies like system76 offer laptops created for running linux so you are bound to have a much much better experience out of the box.

Did you ever come across how they map parameters inside the VST/AU standard? Everyone else does 0 -> 1. They do 1 -> 120 or something completely boffed.
AFAIK it‘s 1 to 127 because of MIDI.
