For Java I got: As of October 31, 2024, the latest version of Java is Java 23, released on September 17, 2024. The most recent Long-Term Support (LTS) version is Java 21, released on September 19, 2023. Which all seems correct and accurate.

Googling for this query is fast, and instantly surfaces the download link. That seems pretty useful...

Even then I wonder about data pollution and model censorship.

This will probably be extremely radical and controversial in this contemporary world. We need to stop adopting this subscription model society mentality and retake _our_ internet. Now OpenAI only needs to figure out how to do Search profitably instead of burning VC money.

Only then will the comparison with profitable Search engines be sensible. Before enshitification all VC-backed products are a delight to use, but after the honeymoon phase there’ll be ads all over the results/responses.

Content based marketing and political correctness have severely eroded the usefulness of the internet. The LLMs and search magnify the erosion.

What if, at the same time, these aspects perfectly reflects current development level of society?

This is just a hunch, but it feels like OpenAI has lost research power and is now focusing on engineering challenges, since that's what they can execute for now. The recent releases of o1 and Search doesn't seem to advance their core models.

Microsoft is their leading investor. They don't technically own OpenAI.

And technically Musk was not the wealthiest man in the world when he bought Twitter, because he didn't had that much cash laying around in his bank accounts. And yet, when wanted, or more precisely put in corner to do so, he did shit 50 billions and bought it.

OpenAI is Microsoft, technical details don't matter here, only money.

What do you mean with "when it starts"? To my mind it's obvious all LLM are heavily biased to a point it's ridiculous, all the more with the confident tone they are trained to take.
