There are only two main political parties in the U.S. One of them has rich white people as their entire shtick. Or, log on to Facebook at look at the type of stuff boomer grandparents post.

This is a rule put in place by people being drowned in spambots.
Spammers have also countered with karma farming bots that further pollute discussions - decreasing the value of such measures; reduced effectiveness and increased spam pollution.

AFAIK originally he said it was 100 AI companies using it for training data and then eventually morphed that to this line of reasoning, but why would Meta possibly need to scrape Twitter and, even if they did, why would they be so hamfisted about it given that they already have the `facebookexternalhit` scraper which hasn't been causing issues. I'd take Musk's statement with a big grain of salt.

Are there truly no ads? Have been putting it of thinking it just removes the google injected ads, but keeping all the promotions and such
There are no ads at all provided by YouTube. Obviously Google can't prevent content creators from embedding their own ads, which is becoming increasingly common.
Of course they could, just make it part of the service agreement.
I would feel much inclined to pay for youtube if they filtered out all ad-funded content.
Even better, they could have a model where content creators for the paid service got their piece of the revenue based in quality metrics rather than quantity metrics.
