I found it awkward and annoying to use , so not a winner. Its a good idea but unfortunately it just doesn't come off , keep on trying though.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

I've seen the Visa, MC and AmEx logos on too many CC forms so far to think that showing their logo is a no-no.

I'm assuming he means the issuing bank, not just the Visa/MC/AmEx logos, as those ARE already displayed on the skeuocard.

Ah... I didn't enter a real CC number so I didn't know what level of customization it did. I assumed it was just the generic main card logos.

Upvoting because this is so beautifully executed and I'd love to see people test this out on their checkout process. That said, my experience indicates that this is not going to convert well. To mirror the author's own quote: "Every question a user has to ask themselves during the checkout process is another reason for them not to complete it." What's presented here is a drastically different experience from the norm…

Agreed, I stumbled for a second before realizing I could type a name in the card, but I would love to see stuff like this become popular. Also, on Chrome 28/Mac, the validation flow seems to have some issues. I can put invalid months like "22" or "00" on the card without it highlighting the month. But it looks like the month needs to be accurate before it will show me my Luhn checkdigit is wrong. After playing with i…

I didn't realize this until I read your comment.

Upvote for presenting a hypothesis and then committing to testing it. The only way to know for sure how well something works is to test it.

Fantastic.

I can think of all sorts of ways for it to drop conversions if it fails, but it is so perfectly done that I kind of don't care.

I'm going to keep an eye on this because it has the potential to really increase the comfort people have when entering a credit card. And because it is beautiful.

Looks nice and I'm glad to see someone rethinking this interface.

Not something I'd use right now. It's too clunky compared to just having some textboxs on the page. I'm not a fan of skeuomorphism in general though, so I'm probably a hard sell.

Doesn't mean you shouldn't keep trying. Thanks for putting this out there. I love the article, btw.

I love this idea and I will test it for sure! I will let you know when I do. For consistency I will also add a letter background to get the billing address. Nice work mate!

>"Beyond that it has to load images dynamically based on card type which, on a slow or interrupted connection, will create even more confusion." This actually happened when I refreshed the page while playing with it and it was replaced by a normal form. Pretty handy. I think I will also be testing it out.

Not sure why the author included that. You can easily preload the images or settle for a text-only implementation.

Or use a CSS sprite and shift the image based on the card that should be displayed.
