Shallow and depressing list, suitable for a tabloid magazine. There are few goodies but most of them are like "it helps the bloodflow so it helps your brain!". Okay true, but is it really _brain food_?

I could make a list of "brain clothes", like "brain socks" - they keep your feet warm so you can focus on thinking better!

I would love to see the rigorously controlled, peer reviewed research papers supporting these claims.

And I would love to know who funded the studies. I bet it's something called The International NeuroPolyphenolAntioxidantOmega3 Appreciation Society.

Interesting.

My first thought was that I'd seen that list before - nothing wrong with that, some content makes its way around the net a fair bit.

My second thought was that it's only tangentially related to zen - again, nothing wrong with that.

My third thought was that the recent posts and next / previous posts like similarly non-zen and reasonably generic.

And then I saw the links in the last two paragraphs. I smell someone playing games with pagerank...

Both literally and figuratively speaking, walnuts are “brain food”. Physically the walnut looks a lot like the human brain. The thin, outer green cover that is taken out before the walnuts are sold is similar to the scalp. The hard shell of a walnut is like a skull. The thin sheet inside, with its paper-like partitions between the two halves of the walnut, is like the membrane. The shape of the walnut itself represents the human brain’s two hemispheres.

Hmm.

If they have stripes, make sure the stripes are vertical, to reduce what expert scientists today call "visual friction" with the blood going to the brain.

Ultimate Hackathon nourishment: Unroasted Walnuts and Dates. I'd stick to water as well.

You can have them without leaving your seat, and they keep you going.

You all know this is spam, right? Take a look at the rest of the site. There was an article just last month about a guy who set up sites like these to cash in on AdSense.
