I’m just telling you the tradeoffs you’ve chosen. You can’t be an economic superpower in the current regime. Without your own “hypergrowth” you’ll always be dominated by the hypergrowth of competitors like the US and China. You’ll be in orbit of other powers instead of creating your own gravity. Where am I wrong?

When you take the eurozone as a block it puts it only second to the US in terms of GDP, with much better QOL indicators. I don't know how you can think this doesn't place it very much within the realm of economic superpowers.

Being a superpower doesn't mean much to the americans that live in a town that looks like Gummo. There's a lot of them.

Yeah but you have to wonder why the EU nations themselves are not very happy with the EU immigration. One part of the answer is that some are more open to out of EU immigration than others. The politically-important Alberta oil mostly goes to the mountain states down here. Coincidentally, those same states rely heaviest on coal for electricity. So, the choice is recharge an EV on coal (think arsenic and mercury accumulating somewhere nearby) or good ol gasoline (which is piped from Canada).

Mountain states? Can't they use hydro power?

I don't know how it is in Europe, but in Canada we only get United Fruit Company bananas from Guatemala, which are disgusting (okay strong words, but they aren't great). Brazilian bananas are so much better they seem like a different fruit.
