How old is your Brother? Mine's 8 years old and it can print/scan without needing to download any drivers (using IPP/eSCL). I was surprised when I set it up for the first time, because it took me like literally three clicks via KDE's Settings applet, never have I ever had such an easier time setting up an MFP on any OS.

It isn't my Brother. The subject is a relatively new laserprinter: Brother DCP-L2622DW. My own Brother is an older inktjet, and I am pretty sure I could get that to work with CUPS/SANE, but yes. I'd use such device for such purpose as well.

The laserprinter was a terrible purchase, since new toners aren't much cloned yet, and superexpensive.

Level1Techs make their own high end KVMs. They’re expensive but reasonable if you need high refresh support and other such niceties.

Wow that's exactly what I am looking for. Don't know if it's worth $720 though, oof

Would you trust this device on the tailnet? I can't understand why GLiNet would not open source the firmware. It's maddening that the stack is literally linux OS running modified open-source KVM code, and even though they cater to enthusiasts, they still won't release the Comet firmware source.

It's paranoia, but until they release the source, it's not proven paranoia.
