You're missing the distinction between individual action (however abhorrent) and an actual terrorist organization. Organizations fund, cultivate, and organize attacks, as opposed to lone wolf terrorists, and therefore are much greater threats. Timothy Mcveigh (and Terry Nichols) weren't members of a terrorist organization, but they were terrorists. Meanwhile, the ku klux klan has actual initiations, membership, and o…

> You're missing the distinction between individual action No I'm not. I specially said "in groups".

Yes you are you left out the rest of the sentence:

> … and an actual terrorist organization.

A group is not “an actual terrorist organization”. You’re trying to say all groups committing a crime against the government are actual terrorists organizations, and they all belong to the same organization, Antifa. That’s not the case. If that’s the case then MAGA is also a terrorist organization — at least they have a clear leader.

Brits, Polish, Germans, Italians, French, Turkish. NATO bases are used without discretion to launch atrocities.

Not always, specifically not for the most recent war (gulf war 3).

This is false. NATO bases have been used every single day to attack Iran.

https://www.politico.eu/article/nato-mark-rutte-italy-us-bas...

NATO Chief, Rutte: "Europe is a platform of power projection for the United States."

Of course, the local political cover story in Italy is that these bases are 'only used for logistics, never direct attacks', but that's just a cover story to deflect any retribution Italy may receive from Iran and its allies, for Italy's participation in the US' heinous acts, and to keep the internal messaging politically correct within Italys' current circus ...

https://en.lasicilia.it/news/italy-world/3052391/the-us-iran...

This is just posturing to avoid retribution. Everyone in Europe knows that NATO bases have been used almost every day since April 2003 by the US to commit its crimes.

Lets also admit that NATO-aligned bases in Poland and Germany are also essential to the US' crimes.

See also, Camp Darby near Pisa, actively supporting NATO and U.S. European and African Command operations.

When radical right wing groups get whacked, everybody celebrates (as we should). But when radical left wing groups suffer the same fate, we should be crying?

>voting for policy positions that obviously work against those voters' own interests Delusions of grandeur / superiority complex much? Have you considered a posibility, that these voters just dont agree with your idea of what their best interests are? >fictional terrorist organization called "antifa." An organization so fictional, that just a few months back multiple members were convicted in a terrorist attack https…

> ” They are obviously a terrorist organization” “Organization” is a stretch. Criminals? Sure. Violent thugs? Maybe. The “terrorist” word, however, has been stretched and distorted for political ends. It seems like any crime motivated by political or religious ideology is now “terrorism”, and thus subject to much harsher punishment than those same crimes would normally receive. By this definition, the Jan 6 rioters w…

It's astoundingly trivial to abuse.

If people could imagine it being used against them, maybe they might understand. Like labeling the Republican party a terrorist organization because they sponsored Jan 6 insurrectionists.

IIRC from the last A/I thread, there's actually a special law that basically says gun manufacturers are not liable for what people do with the guns, and says it specifically about guns, not any other industry.

No other industry needed that law. The PLCAA was put in place in 2005 because anti-gun specifically devised a plan to sue gun makers in lieu of any success in changing gun laws. It is absolute nonsense to ignore why the law exists while you complain about it existing.

Why is it necessary to legislate it if it's nonsense? If there is no culpability, why would there be any threat?

Jan 6, didn't work, not entirely sure why you bring this up as a blueprint for anyone. It was an actual LARP and as Bruno Macaes wrote resembled a bunch of people making it to the end of a videogame, then running around confused in costumes and going for a drink. What did work for them was pouring money into the election system and party apparatus, media, the courts and then taking control over politics

> Jan 6, didn't work, not entirely sure why you bring this up as a blueprint for anyone. Might want to let the Democrats know that. According to them the government was >this< close to being overthrown. Which is funny, because if anyone truly believes that, we don't stand a chance against pretty much any country on earth.

Then you weren't paying attention. Watch the videos of the mob inside the building. If they hadn't been led away from the senate chambers by capitol police [1], we'd be having a very different conversation right now. Did you think the American History X extras leading the pack were just there to see the sights? Come on, man.

Actual terrorists have a right to speak too, you know. Intrinsic to the whole idea of rights is that even people we don't like (or are even mortally opposed to!) still have them. The problem with "firebombs on anti-abortion pregnancy crisis centers" is obviously the firebombs .

> The problem with "firebombs on anti-abortion pregnancy crisis centers" is obviously the firebombs

I don't know, if we didn't have "anti-abortion pregnancy crisis centers", the firebombs would be kind of irrelevant

What conversation do you think we would be having? Would we be debating the laws that January 6 attendees are passing in the chambers? What alternate outcome do you think was likely, or even possible?

For people wondering what types of organizations A/I was providing services to, you can explore the blogs that A/I hosted by using DataRepublican's database that was scraped from the NoBlogs platform.

https://datarepublican.com/noblogs/

There's a "Dashboard" view in the top right that is easier to skim.
