> (If you're opposed to antifascists what does that make you? You cant judge a group by its name. Otherwise, Make America Great Again is great, the National Socialist German Workers' party seems fine, etc.

It's not a group. There are several smaller orgs that call themselves antifascist but there's no such centralized group or political structure. It's not even a specific ideology. It's just oppositional to fascism

If you're opposed to one antifascist group you're just opposed to that group. But if you're opposed to all antifascism, then you're a fascist. The American government didn't just designate this group as terrorists, but additional designated all antifascism as terrorism.

This is a terrible take. Were the Allied powers antifascist?

Sorry but antifa does not get to claim the allied powers

What does that actually mean? This sentence only makes sense to me if antifa is a person

We've got a billionaire funded conspiracy openly ignoring the Constitution, wantonly trashing our American liberties, and yet you're still raging about "communist billionaires" ? The politics of billionaires as a group is not leftism, nor is it rightism. The politics of billionaires is self-serving authoritarianism . From each camp, they pick the sides of issues that stand to increase their own power, taking stakes i…

From what I've seen, freedom of speech has been improving. It used to be that people could barely speak their mind on Reddit, Twitter or at universities without getting attacked or cancelled over who knows what. Now, people are expressing themselves more regularly in all of those places. Universities still have a ways to go, but it is improving. There have been some television networks that also had public licensing…

How can you say freedom of speech is improving when the government has just declared a blog hosting service to be terrorists because of the speech of the blogs hosted there? Is this satire?

> The solution to save the country is to write off the Constitution in favor of "unitary executive theory" aka autocracy? Unitary Executive Theory is not autocracy. You seem to have capacity to reason and maybe don't understand how the US works, so I'll explain. In the US, we have many states. All of the states can check the federal government, because it is the states that created the federal government to start wit…

Can you name some of the communist billionaires

What does it entail, in practice? They are sanctioned, okay, and? What happens practically.

US sanctions mean if you trade with the santioned org.. YOU get sanctioned (lose access to trade or financial systems controlled by US or US companies like Visa)

Then I want to trade with so many orgs the whole world is sanctioned. Maybe the world will finally decouple from the US.

If Italy doesn't shut down their services, the Italy itself will be shut out of SWIFT.

> Italy itself will be Because of a decision from the USA administration? ?!

Yes. It's the same mechanism that was used against Russia and Iran.

If you donate to them from the US, you probably get put on a no-fly list at a minimum. Maybe even a friendly visit from the feds at your home!

I can't wait to waste the feds' time investigating nothing. They've already done it to me a few times.

Well, the State Dept is anything but vague about its argument: https://www.state.gov/releases/office-of-the-spokesperson/20... "The A/I Collective exclusively offers its tools and services to radical left-wing actors and manually vets all potential users for ideological affinity before granting them access to its infrastructure. The group has become a key node in a transnational campaign by violent and criminal far-l…

Most importantly, the corner of their website says "free palestine" and we all know how the DC swamp feels about that kind of free expression.

Servers, connection and maintenance costs... That is what they do. Read the manifesto. > We react by providing a platform and tools for digital self-defense addressing the need of free communication for activists and other individuals Yes, they select the users. But clearly to exclude services to those they would judge as bad actors!

So you're in it purely for freedom of expression? I can get behind that, but after reading further it doesn't seem like they are about that at all, but rather are extremely selective and it has nothing to do with "bad acting."

If you are helping only certain people express freely is that not still helping freedom of expression?

Should a blog platform be forced to help everyone express themselves or no one?
