No I didnt, I said "A good CEO" you missed the GOOD qualifier, and then immediately described a bad CEO
A good CEO according to the market, which is what counts in the US, is one that drives up the valuation of a company and increases profit in a mature company. It has nothing to do with personal interaction as most of us would prefer.

> I also object to the constant claims of conspiracy among capital holders. Capital holders are also in extremely fierce competition with each other, and they are in turn beholden to consumers / buyers, etc. Cause we’ve never seen capital holders collude to keep wages down. Certainly never in the technology industry. It’s just pure competition as nature intended.[1] [1] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-Tech_Employe…
Of course we see all kinds of illegal, anti-competitive, anti-consumer actions and collusions, etc. We also see all kinds of horrible actions from wage earners, consumers, the government, etc. What is your point? I'm clearly talking about an attitude that basically all capital owners are in secret cahoots with each other to destroy their sworn enemy: workers. Aka, the class war they don't want you to believe is happe…
You do have bad actors amongst labor but everytime labor tries to coordinate together the union crushing apparatus comes out so you don’t tend to see as much coordinated bad activity.
And with AI we’re not seeing companies chomping at the bit to make all their employees more productive left and right, we’re seeing them chomping at the bit to see how many employees they can cut

#614Organizations/Biz requirements (be it scope, money, HR, etc) changes depending on the size thereof.
This assumes that whatever your biz is, it's at Google level. It's too much. Sometimes you need just few employees (few agents) to get the things done.
This app will overcomplicate flows just like in real life. The only lesson I will take from app is how SenteLab created the service, and why (<- so you know when to use this or not)

#616To be fair I think its far easier to automate leadership jobs despite how they believe in greater self-worth. As a developer I keep running into problems that require some measure of creativity to solve or workaround. And regardless of how many years I've been in the industry I'm not running out of issues. They just keep getting more obscure. On the other hand leadership communication and problem resolution seem like…
The value-add for a meatbag CEO is the physical networking they do. They have to do executive functions as well, which could quite possibly be replaced with a well-trained LLM and even possibly exceed in overall quality. But an LLM can't go to conferences; they can't have Top Secret Meetings where a merger or acquisition is discussed; they can't run into Jim Executive of BigCorp Inc. in Vail and scheme up some big ne…

Because it's only half true. Yeah we've used phrases like those before, but if you ignore certain very specific phrases or characters for a moment, a lot of the more ambiguous things people are identifying as AI-speak comes from mixing jargon from different domains in a way humans normally don't do. Like the short punchy sentences are from marketing, not comments or technical writing like they've started showing up i…
So John Nagle is an AI. Huh. Never would have guessed it, in a million years... To be fair, "Famous person accused of being an AI," was on my bingo card. It was inevitable for this kind of embarrassing mistake to happen.
By pure luck I even landed on a comment that uses that same word with a similar sentiment, except back then he wrote it as a full non-punchy sentence: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31414288

#618A team of software developers were recently let go so a company could replace them with AI. So they got together and created an Open Source AI CEO to replace the CEO and other executives. Hopefully, turnabout is fair play and this might even get some folks to think twice about using AI to replace people.
Corporate officers, including CEOs, have to be "natural persons" (legal jargon for flesh-and-blood humans) either directly by law or indirectly as a practical matter so the attempted turnabout falls flat on its face. Sun Tzu said to "know your enemy" and those who don't know the basics of how businesses and finance work have no hope of defeating them.

> I think its far easier to automate leadership jobs I have the opposite opinion. I've never been a CEO, and have intentionally avoided any sort of manager/C-level opportunities at all the various companies I've worked specifically because they require a lot of effort at personnel management, investor relationships, customer relationships, and generally things requiring having to talk to people . That kind of thing j…
Exactly. Being a good CEO means reading the body language of your programmers so you can tell when they need support. It means communicating competence to investors and customers. It means making complex decisions with incomplete input, a lot of the time deep intuitions are required. It means having the good sense of judgement. Part of the time you are tyrant, part of the time you are parent, part of the time you are…

class struggle != everything is a group vs group war
The concept of "class struggle" epitomizes the "group vs. group war" mentality. It's a mental framework that combines ingroup/outgroup dynamics with a Manichean moral narrative, leading to literally every question being interpreted as a move in relation to an all-encompassing macro-level conflict. This in turn leads to every problem being abstracted out of its context, and attributed to malice instead of error. Think…
