#462To be fair I think its far easier to automate leadership jobs despite how they believe in greater self-worth. As a developer I keep running into problems that require some measure of creativity to solve or workaround. And regardless of how many years I've been in the industry I'm not running out of issues. They just keep getting more obscure. On the other hand leadership communication and problem resolution seem like…
The scifi story Manna starts with management being automated: https://marshallbrain.com/manna1 It's a different type of soulless hell, and it's a good read if you haven't already.

Wasting your latin trying to impress others with nothingness causes the same revulsion, human or AI. Previously, most people would save their effort for things that actually mattered. Take away the effort and this is what you get.
It’s not about trying to impress others
It's long READMEs with 3 punchlines per paragraph for a project best described has "I found these 4 thingies, all of them had compromises, so I told Claude: merge the 4, no compromises!"
And every issue, every PR you open, about every small improvement or new feature, is the same.

#466I get it’s a joke, and often a frequent cynical joke made here, but I actually think it’s a good thought experiment. Almost like a new Turing test The thought experiment, to be clear, is building an artificially intelligent CEO or company founder with the intent of generating profit. If this AI can turn a profit, it has passed this new test Of course, by the time this new AI starts turning a profit, it will be maximi…
You're describing the Tendency of the Rate of Profit to Fall[1], which, I'm sorry, is a Marxist idea so it's automatically wrong. 1. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tendency_of_the_rate_of_profit...

I have the opposite opinion. I've never been a CEO, and have intentionally avoided any sort of manager/C-level opportunities at all the various companies I've worked specifically because they require a lot of effort at personnel management, investor relationships, customer relationships, and generally things requiring having to talk to people.
That kind of thing just can't be replaced by a chat bot.

The founders who become CEOs are generally the better ones. The ones that draw universal hatred are usually hired by the board of public companies, to enact unpopular measures to ensure shareholder returns, such as firing expensive developers to make room for cheap AI; or unfairly denying health care to policy holders (like Luigi's alleged victim); etc. The relatively rare heartless corporate CEO also receives dispro…
Luigi Mangione pleaded guilty.
The apparent facts bear out that Luigi is guilty of killing that executive, but since it was an executive in a position of making decisions that damaged or ended the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of people, they would give him a pass (and directions to other executives/billionaires).

#469Lol!! Don't forget. This is a modern day class war. This current LLM based so called AI, could have easily used for automating simple tasks and employees could have easily provided with 3 day work week. The goal is to monopolize human knowledge with all the stolen data and make profits from it.
Agreed. LLMs are the Manhattan Project of the class war. It really looks like they're betting everything that this will "win" it for them
