80% of ORB's estimated deaths came from four central governorates (completely excluding 3 altogether), and the mortality responses in those areas had major internal inconsistencies. The conclusion of peer-reviewed critique is that the ORB mortality data were not credible. That said, if someone is going to make a contentious claim, referencing the evidence or using some data to work up a basic attempt to substantiate…

Yeah, I'm not sure how credible it is, I only pointed that one out since you were comparing generally upper range estimates with other upper rang…

I'm just going to remind you here that you're arguing with me about my figures that I threw together to question a claim someone else made out of thin air, which it largely did, and your main point of contention is that I should be using data that nobody can get hold of.

In terms of my statement about intenational observers / journalists- I don't think it's contentious to suggest that the overwhelming reason they can't operate in Gaza is because Israel won't allow them into Gaza.

If Israel let them in and they were impeded or detained or killed by Hamas, then those would be possible outcomes.

The UN Human Rights Office described the restriction as lasting more than 18 months by June 2025, with only a few IDF-controlled visits.

The list of countries that grant chaperoned journalistic access to places includes: North Korea, China, Iran, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan, Myanmar, Eritrea for starters.

This isn't exactly a hall of fame...

He meant being humane in how they fight wars with Hamas. Like it's cheaper to just bomb everything regardless of civilians. The thing is, Israel needs to worry about its own defense too. Currently there are several semi-hostile neighbors that the US basically pays off, plus the US pays for very expensive defense systems in Israel. Last invasion was long ago, Yom Kippur War, where the US was withholding aid until Isra…

Sorry but I honestly believe that the exact opposite is true. If I'm running low on resources, I'd be more careful with whatever I have left, not less.

Israel has plenty of bombs. They have a shortage of interceptors for short range misses that hamas and hezbollah like to lob at them. This is why they would feel the need to establish a DMZ. They can afford to kick all their neighbors out, they cant afford to intercept rockets that would fly if they dont kick their neighbors out. So I agree with you, they will be more careful with the resources that are scarce.

Israel has nuclear weapons. If all their foreign backers pull out they would use them in an invasion scenario, so I dont think they need to worry to much about hot war with a legitimate government.

I'm not convinced that the nukes would deter invaders. Yom Kippur War was after they already had nukes. But I also don't think it'd come to that. They'd negotiate something.

In every asymmetric war, the side with fewer resources has targeted civilians more. Or if both sides have few resources, both do it. It's expensive to carefully only attack military targets. For one, involves sending in soldiers to places they could've bombed instead.

« Even America's closest postwar allies like the UK, Sweden and Japan did not get that type of diplomatic cover, it was exclusive to Israel.« wasn’t echelon a joint collaboration between the US and the UK ?

The earliest incarnations of ECHELON, to my knowledge, were relatively siloed and not comparable to Israel's intelligence status at the time. FIVE EYES did not include de-facto nuclear coverups, satellite downlink control or a physical presence within CIA offices and the Pentagon.

Absolutely! If Pakistan started committing a genocide and nobody talked about it but continued talking about Israel’s genocide, I would start to ask some questions. That is not the case though, no country on the planet is currently doing anything nearly as awful as Israel. So the coverage is well-calibrated.

According to UN, Sudan is the worst: https://www.who.int/news/item/09-01-2026-sudan-1000-days-of-... Yet you seem to be completely unaware of it. Why do you think that is?

the word “genocide” does not appear in that article. Also, I was aware of it. Why did you think I wasn’t?

Anything you disagree with is "Hasbara" right ? Supporting Israel's right to exist - Hasbara. Saying some Palestinian hold extremist view - Hasbara.

No country has some divine right to exist. If a nation keeps crossing every line, there's no reason to keep it around. How is this not obvious.

Don't flatter yourself. You're not the one keeping it around. But your comment illustrates why Israel needs to exist and will continue to exist.

This is 1/10,000th of the bile that Qatar churns out with their state propaganda wing every day. Not to mention their brigades on Wikipedia and Reddit. The only surprising thing here is that Israel is so far behind in the game. There is a genuine fear that basic facts are being erased as LLMs suck up all the misinformation pumped out by authoritarian regimes. A hundred articles from an Israeli ad campaign are a drop in the ocean of hatred aimed at their people and government. Not much to see here other than the author's biases.
