>Your linked article is not very scientific. That's the whole point. Due to the touchiness of the subject matter, these kinds of topics would be quite difficult to discuss frankly in a politicized institution guarded by a peer review process.

I didn't mention peer review. The bare minimum for scientific analysis is conclusion drawn from observations based on data points. This article is more like a rant occasionally augmented by pictures of anime boobs. There is no attempt at scientific rigor. A serious presentation could have maintained the rigor even outside the peer-review process (which, despite your assertion, would likely have no objection to the su…

I think what you're trying to say is that this article isn't at the highest level of epistemic certainty. That's not surprising for a given subject matter. The author explicitly acknowledges that -https://www.jsanilac.com/dispelling-beauty-lies/#:~:text=Don...

I always wondered why 6" dick was put into this. The other variant of 6pack abs made more sense. Most women want to verify things before having sex and income, height, and abs are pretty trivial to verify. The size of a guys dick though really only shows up when you're already getting physical.

And 6 packs need hard work so it shows some quality.

The information that was missing from my life: For the Average Man, gaining an inch of height is worth losing roughly $25k in annual salary. Meanwhile, an inch of pecker is roughly offset by reducing annual salary by $128k.

I can see how a man's height is evident, the salary might be according to their spending, but how do you market your slightly longer pecker?

This is solid reporting: > A 6" wiener is even rarer than being 6' tall. The average erect penis length is 5.166" with a std dev of 0.654".

The data cannot be right. Is the average penis really that small in the states ?

This is probably the data set everyone uses, compiled by Data Panda. Read the sources and methodology, and weep.

All such data is a _little_ dubious, as it's pretty much always opt-in, and there'd always be a question of whether you have a fair sample.

If anything, that would lead one to assume that it overestimates typical length.

> No one was talking about "body count" (at least not publicly) ten years ago. People have been talking about virginity and monogamy for 1000s of years. Men want to know that the children they raise are their own. It might have blipped a bit since the invention of the pill but women cuckolding their partners has been frowned upon world wide for a very long time. Sex before monogamous marriage has historically been a…

> Men want to know that the children they raise are their own. You realize that the number (>0) of prior sexual partners has nothing to do with the parentage of one's children, right? You can marry a virgin and still be a cuckold; or you can marry a prostitute and sire a large family.

Of course. “Body count” is a poor proxy for fidelity. That doesn’t mean it hasn’t historically been used for that purpose.

For amusement, one could calculate the fraction of the population that has a blended exclusivity score In the extreme case of using many independent traits, I think one might find that most of the population is in an exclusive minority :)

[0] Use logs. If there are n extra traits that aren’t in the original three, a random person scores some expected log exclusivity points for each extra trait. (Exactly 1 point, in fact, if you use natural logs and negate the result to get positive points.) Multiply that expectation by the number of traits and the average person scores n points. e^-n is very exclusive for even moderate n!
