I watched the event live, and nothing about it was humorous, least of all the suggestion that the United States would even consider for a moment undoing one of our strongest Constitutional protections, term limits on the presidency.

#6You know what is scariest? That on democrat Reddit posts about this, people were overwhelmingly agreeing that Obama should run for his third term as well, and they’d be glad to vote for him. Their rationale is that you have to fight fire with fire and can’t afford to follow the rules if the other party is playing dirty. I mean, if ol’ minihands is permitted to run for a third term, then the US really is teetering on the edge of not being a democracy anymore, and it would be entirely appropriate for the other side to attempt to use the new rules (presumably declared by fiat) to try to elect a popular candidate.

I think they’re suggesting that expressing this logic justifies his bid for third term
