The accounting is very similar. The processes are not. Small businesses continue to be special snowflakes in terms of how they do their work. Both for good and bad reasons. I’m surprised an open source accounting package hasn’t popped up that handles the accounting well. The backend could largely be the same (or at least modular) while the front legitimately needs to vary based on what type of work, how sales are don…

At least in my experience it’s usually for bad, and having to conform to standard software probably improves their process. Of course you have to pick one for the country and laws.

Please explain where frontier models were copied from. Have LLMs always existed?

Did they invent everything that went into those LLms?

My argument is strengthened by the fact that they didn’t. There is so much technology between the raw data and the model itself. It’s absurd to suggest LLMs are simply a product of the information.

I did note $20-300. In particular, domestic employers would surely still spend the upper end of it for each of their engineer staff. If there are 4 million software developers in the US of any job title, and if the employer of each spends $200 per month for the developer, that's $800M per month in revenue.

you wouldn't get the full market share, but for 1T company with 20pe you still need ~10B of revenue per month. And growing. that is hard from subscriptions alone because there are only so many developers. (google has 40B per month and is a 4T company.)

No its pretty realistic. Nobody is losing their sleep when ultra-wealthy thief gets robbed for their stolen possessions or money made out of those, do they.

That's generally true, but consider this:

If the consolidated (stolen) IP of millions of books remains under US LLM company control, then at the very least there's a chance of justice to be served to the creators in the future - a large lawsuit victory and change to the legal system that results in the ill-gotten gains being transferred to the original creators.

If those proprietary models are distilled by the PRC, then that will never happen, because the PRC does not care about any sort of law (including their own) and will simply never return a single cent to the original US authors.
