Banning them would hand European startups a gift of low cost inference so I am 100% in support of this.

The globalists had no problem selling out our manufacturing to China, now they are crying because China can provide a cheaper service.

Anthropic and OpenAI have executed the greatest intellectual property heist in human history and they are angry because China stole from thieves and distillation isn't even technically legally defined yet. As much as I despise the CCP you better believe I'm using the cheapest models.

It's a race to the bottom and I understand everyone who does not vote (for one of the 2 major parties) on the condition that they don't give up hope but start to learn and organize for real change.

Same as the tariffs, more or less. Both hinge on the same argument: foreign competition will drive down profits for domestic providers, so banning the foreign competition (or making them more expensive) will benefit domestic players

It baffles me how naive people are about China and their practices despite nonstop evidence, and then justify their arguments one way or another.

But many commenters are CCP propagandists, some even trying to convince people the US companies are the enemy! That's straight up propaganda.

All models are trained on outputs from all other frontier models at training time.

So you mean that they have no problem distilling but are crybabies and also accuse the chinese of doing it?
