Subreddits get banned for egregious shit. Reddit stays on the side of letting subs up, rather than banning. Reddit has made it harder for mods to find out which subs you are active in, so that you can’t be banned for activity in subs that are in cold wars with each other.
Nonsurprisingly, their leniency exists in a cycle that depends on who's in power in the US government.

Here in the UK, a large proportion of the population still think the EU is a good idea... Despite all the evidence proving otherwise.
I know I do. I think the main purpose of the EU is to prevent wars between European states by providing a forum for compromise and cooperation. I’d say it’s succeeded in that nicely since its founding. Not one war between member states despite ongoing disputes. Seems like a very good idea. I hate this law though, it’s undemocratic.

Both EU referendums were about whether to leave. Labour took Britain in without a referendum and only held one on reversing it due to the outrage that caused.

I'm pretty sure that, for a start, backroom deals with Pfizer during the Covid pandemic. She's been accused of deleting evidence (like SMS) and pressuring companies to delete evidence if I'm not mistaken.
I don't know what GP means exactly but the EU institutions are a special jurisdiction: for example a belgian policeman cannot go inside the EU Commission and arrest someone without special powers. Source: I know an inspector who went in there and arrested an EU bureaucrat that happened to be a pedophile.
And it's well known that to be sure that the police cannot come and knock at her door with a warrant while she'd be anywhere else in Belgium, she's made herself an apartment build inside the EU Commission. So she's safe there.

The internet is not the problem, the algo is. With the internet I have free MIT lessons, documentaries, debates on Youtube! I have access to scientific journals. I can access every book ever written in the world. The internet is not the issue here. The homepages/fyp on youtube, tiktok, instagram is. Books and the correct asthetic needs to be prioritized.
That internet will still exist, you just won’t be anonymous while accessing those resources.
My issue is that one.
AND that politicians and the sites WANT age verification because the sites wont have to fix their algo.
The block lists are crazy, even Youtube is blocked. Instead of fixing fyp and promoting non-brainrot content, they rather slap an age gate on it.
