Stealth | Software/AI Engineer | Remote Anywhere | Full Time

Hello, I am bootstrapping an AI companion startup. I believe that within 10 years, more people will date AI than humans. I think this is neither good nor bad, just interesting, and I want to build something in this space.

I am looking to hire someone with strong technical and problem solving skills. You will be seeing a lot of problems for the first time and need to just figure out how to hack a solution. Sometimes that involves writing code but not always. It is ok if you don't have prior AI experience.

Interesting problems we will work on:

- extreme latency issues while providing a fully multimodal experience (audio, video, text)

- building models that predict when to interrupt in a conversation

- building models and control systems for emotion

- generating avatar response in real time

- custom 3d models from input image

- real time or very fast video generation with custom characters

- llm memory

As I am bootstrapping this, I can only offer up to $4,000/mo ($50,000/yr) at the moment. If you are interested, please email James at gcyiuqy1 [at] gmail.com

REQUEST to include the 4DWW (Four Day Work Week) tag & text in the description to provide a clear signal to companies that workers are yearning for it.

Is any company actually doing this? I haven’t heard of anyone that has this setup. Maybe contract work, but never a full time employee working 4 days.

It's not unheard of here in Sweden, not common but I know a couple of people here and there.

Earlier quoted context omitted.

I said what I meant in the original HN post. I would encourage folks with relevant experience and interest to apply regardless of location. The bulk of the current team, myself included, is remote and has been for years.

Are all of your positions like that, or only durable objects? I was always interested but the defined locations in the job descriptions held me back from applying.

This, like most parts of the application process, are team dependent at Cloudflare. I manage another team, Cloudflare D1, and I do not see myself hiring someone for that team that is not willing to do hybrid in Austin or London. The existing team works well being in the office.

Please don't build this. We don't need human extinction due to hijacking the evolutionary instinct to bond with other people and knowingly guiding people down an evolutionary dead end.

There are so many ideas to explore and problems to solve. I would be happy to give you 5 for free, I have more problems in my business laboratory than I have time to build. I'll give you a few ideas to work on. Book office hours if youre interested: hourshttps://calendly.com/ryanwmartin/open-office-hours

Sent an email a couple weeks ago! Just a bump to be on the lookout for it!

I wouldn't wait on this. The post has been up for a long time and appears to only be collecting CVs. I applied early last year and never got a response, and many others report the same.
