Justin, as a friendly suggestion, double check your recruitment process. I believe you guys are rejecting people based on keywords instead of reading CV. I applied to a position and I believe to be a great fit, but in my CV you won't find the keywords that appears in the job description. Automatic rejection in no time. Nothing wrong, but you are leaving a lot of talent to the table, and I was very hesitant in applyin…

lol why fight it? just do the same thing…copy paste the website/company info & ur resume through gpt and make sure to use your new “prompt engineering” skills to run it through a bunch of times with prompts like “make me sound even more certified and a better fit for this company”. u have to be creative with your prompt though

Volcore | Manchester, UK | ONSITE | Full-Time | Software Engineer

At Volcore, we model the electricity system to do proprietary trading that helps balance the grid and facilitate renewables integration. Our technical roles are a blend of Software Engineering and Data Science, wherein we solve problems end-to-end, from data ingestion and analysis to optimisation and deployment. Often these require novel solutions, drawing on original research and experimentation. We are a profitable and ambitious startup looking for Software Engineers who can both crack these kinds of problems and continually improve our shared libraries, tooling and workflows to ensure they are fast, accurate and a delight to work with.

Our team are close-knit, with minimal hierarchy and almost zero meetings. We work together in-office to whiteboard solutions together and everything we build is used by people sitting next to us.

Typically these positions attract people who have outgrown their previous role and are seeking more responsibility or more challenging subject matter. Every team member owns important projects very early on, and if you can deliver value in a particular area, you’ll be recognised and rewarded for it, regardless of job title.

Our tech stack includes Python, backend Typescript, Postgres and, increasingly, Rust, although the latter is not a Day-1 requirement.

We review all applications personally. For more info, including our requirements and salaries:

mymcat.ai | data-driven software engineer for medical education startup (remote)| remote | https://mymcat.ai

MyMCAT.ai is a machine learning educational technology company that seeks to build a better class of doctors. We’ve built a unique, gamified intelligent tutoring system, essentially a video game for learning the MCAT. Our platform is an intelligent tutoring system which diagnoses student weaknesses, assigns them content and videos in fun games, and then uses AI to tutor them on topics they struggle with.

However, what we REALLY need is a software engineer who's good with data.

It's built like a sensor network: from the beginning to the end, every interaction with our website is tracked and used to update the model's understanding of student knowledge. Every interaction on our platform is a data point – highlights, answer changes, even the coins they earn. This gives us unprecedented insight into how top performers master complex material. We're capturing the real-time cognitive processes of the highest achievers, not just their scores. We are leveraging insights from behavioral economics to optimize learning through a proprietary coin system – what students prioritize, and how they respond to incentives. For example, we learned that higher-performing students on MCAT CARs reading passages actually highlight less rather than more, turning theory of excellent test-taking into data-driven insights.

Please apply by sending a resume and a creative work — basically anything unrelated to work where you had to exercise creativity (art, creative writing, music) — to kalypso@mymcat.ai.

WE NEED PEOPLE WHO ARE REALLY GOOD AT DATA AND GOOD-ISH AT SOFTWARE DESIGN
