Better Stack | https://betterstack.com | /^(Full-?stack|Frontend) Engineer$/i | Europe remote in UTC ± 3h We are software builders at  CEO is a software engineer, COO is a software engineer and you guessed it; CTO is an engineer, too. We are engineers, making the tools we always wanted. If you love building amazing software, you're at the right address. Apply at https://betterstack.com/careers/fullstack-engine…

I'm tickled by the fact you can express your acceptable time zone range in a simple UTC offset.

I was amused they don't commit to either "full-stack" or "fullstack" spellings :)

Sourcetable | Staff-level Engineers | San Francisco | ONSITE | https://sourcetable.com

We're building an AI spreadsheet and application platform for the next billion people. We are most commonly compared to Sheets/Gemini and Excel/Copilot, or referred to as "Cursor for Spreadsheets".

If you are an excellent full-stack engineer (React/Python) with good product sense and experience building hard things, please come talk to us. Most of our team are ex-founders, and there is an expectation that you can build end-to-end without requiring assistance from others. AI experience is nice but not required, this is a product engineering role.

There's a platform shift underway. Let's get after it!

How about experience with bioinformatics and software development but not rust specifically?

Probably not for this level of position, though you are welcome to apply if you meet the requirements! Additionally, we do have other positions that have to do with software engineering and bioinformatics that don't require Rust. I'd just check out "software engineer" at stjude.org/careers.

Don't take this the wrong way, but what sort of resume are you looking for at HRT? I have sent many applications over the years with no responses. I have a masters and two bachelors from UW-Madison, which is arguably a top school in the area since UChicago doesn't have an engineering school (I also got into Michigan and Northwestern for context). I've build spacecraft for the Space Force and I've worked in latency-se…

I too am surprised by the number of ads these firms put out. Reddit, YouTube, even advent of code. I can't imagine in a world where even underpaid entry level roles at small startups get hundreds of applicants that these firms have a shortage of candidates.

What I think happens behind the scenes is similar to elite universities: there's a strong desire to maintain a high rejection rate. It's probably a KPI of the HR team to get a high number of applicants, so their HR team goes to the bottom of the ocean and the top of mountains to paste job ads. It is however not at all a sign that they need people.

> A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $125,840 - $238,160 per year for the role of Senior Staff / Principal Software Engineer, Rust Genomics.

The market for principal engineers with Rust experience has _really_ shifted it seems over the past 24 months. $125k was graduation salary rates a few years ago, not someone 10-20 years in.
