I am not qualified for your current hiring needs, but this is extremely interesting to me.

Right now, I am currently learning Rust and have some side projects planned writing interpreters and compilers therein, and would love to take you up on the offer to have "conversations with anyone interested" so I can learn more about what you're building and learn some things.

Hey, cool to see you guys here. Couple questions:

1. Is C++ required for all of your roles?

2. Any advice for someone who isn't coming from big tech or a top ranked university CS program to make a strong application?

Thanks

Earlier quoted context omitted.

The trivial reason would be no need to support visas, but happy to pay to incentivise you to move there

Not being in the EU doesn’t mean you need a visa.

Er... yes it does? If you're not an EU citizen then you need a visa to work in an EU country.

Why are over 1/3rd of US states on your remote work blacklist? When I asked your virtual recruiting assistant why my state was on the list, the response: “Great! Take a look at the 3 recommended positions I found for you.”

TriumphPay is a subsidiary of Triumph Financial. That list applies to those working for Triumph Financial, not to us. Something must've gotten caught up in the HR system they use to post roles publicly.

We do hire from, and have employees in many of the listed states. We are restricted to U.S. only.

Any chance you're open to Canadians?

Unfortunately, we are restricted to U.S. only right now.

Combinaut | REMOTE | Senior Developer, Ruby on Rails | Contract | https://www.sparkle.health/

We’re looking for remote candidates to join our team of kind, hardworking, and creative people!

Our company, Combinaut, creates tools for healthcare organizations that help patients find care (https://www.sparkle.health/). We need an experienced Ruby/Rails developer to help build new features and to optimize the existing product. Must have 3 years Ruby on Rails experience. 1 year Vue.js, 1+ year American healthcare, 1 year content management system development preferred.

* Backend powered by Ruby on Rails

* The app has a significant amount of frontend JS components

* We are in the process of migrating front-end components to Vue.js but still use backbone as well

* We have multiple clients with different deployments and customizations to business logic and look’n’feel

* We use Github version control

Our developers work with near-autonomy toward shared goals. We don’t micro-manage. Everyone on our team is trusted to manage their own day, and we value good results over process.

About the project:

* Our team is international (Germany! New Zealand! Spain! Canada!) and all remote, but mostly overlaps with the Pacific or Central time zone.

* It is a large app, been around for many years, so there is a mix of greenfield new features as well as maintenance and improvement of existing features.

* Well-funded team with great cashflow and an established client base.

This is a company that actively maintains work/life balance and rejects crunch culture. We work hard to foster an atmosphere of independence and trust in our developers.

To apply: Please email me directly (lisa @ combinaut.com) with your resume and examples of your work. Subject line: Senior Ruby/Rails Dev.
