I think it was a few months ago here on HN that I saw someone suggest that we'll only accept AI as people when people start worshipping them.

The fallout from this week will be world changing. IMO, concentration of power in the hands of ‘sama as OpenAI changes tack to full commercialisation can only be a bad thing. The prevailing feeling at work is that AI risk experts are about to have their day in the sun.

The article makes the point that the corporate structure wasn't enough to rein in the human ambitions at OpenAI. But then it concludes that we need more... government regulation. When has that ever stopped the march of technology?

Man, that has been a dream since I was a kid: to see humanity create better gods. It would be really cool to see these machine gods evolve over time too, and scripture and morality along with them. A version controlled religion for future historians (AI, humans, or otherwise) to study!

CyberLuther forks catholic_adonai_v7 because he is not happy with how they upcharge the operational costs.

Which players have the better tensor chips?

1. Apple 2. Google 3. NVIDIA 4. SAMA if his side chip startup gets going 5. Microsoft

As the bet would not be SoC tensor specific but overall the full stack of it..

Nuclear proliferation, chemical weapons treaties, EU regulations on tech are starting to bite...

But of course, what is the alternative?

Consumer choice? doubt it Self-governance? clearly not Crypto? lol
