Ilya doesn’t want to be known as the Steve Wozniak in this relationship while Sam is perceived as the Steve Jobs. Unless you’re technically inclined no one remembers or praises the contributions of the Woz.

IME that's been common or the norm in plenty of circles for more than 25 years (so probably longer). It became less common when people started phone-posting and when phones started auto-capitalizing by default.

But it seems like an intentional choice. The default settings on a phone will capitalize automatically.

Yes, you are only one data point. Check the views on Ilya's interviews on youtube. E.g. his interview on Lex (which he did years before Sam Altman) has 400k views, which demonstrated that he is a very well known entity in tech/AI space.

Lex has over 3M subs and most of his videos get way over 400k views. I think this makes the opposite point you’re trying to use it for.

Sama also went on Lex and got over 5M views. The title was: OpenAi ceo on, ChatGPT, GPT4, and the future of AI.

That does not sound like the proper way to do an openAI 2.0. If Reddit ever hears that's how an AI company scraped them, they'll get sued for fun and profits.

The point is that the data is easily accessible. If you wanted to get your hands on the data while simultaneously keeping them clean, contract with a Russian contracting company to give you a data dump. You don't need to know how they got it.

Well, until discovery, wherein your deliberate not knowing will be a pretty big deal.

If you read the latest Semianalysis article, Microsoft’s current infra project is the largest infra project currently being undertaken by humankind (not sure if that’s overstatement, but regardless, $50B largely and competently directed towards (Open)AI-supporting hardware isn’t something easily replicable)

Apple is sitting on $162B in cash right now and would definitely benefit from OpenAI's IP.

Apple doesn’t have anything close to the experience of running things “at scale” as Microsoft, Google or Amazon. Completely different levels. Apple would have challenges maintaining the update infrastructure for any of these other orgs. They simply do not exist on the same scale of compute power and management. I say this as an Apple apologist whose entire household consolidates on Apple devices and services. iCloud is simply nothing compared to the scale and capabilities of OneDrive and related services. I don’t think cash alone is enough. Proven ability to execute at scale matters.
