Threads is definitely going to be dominated by friends and family. It already is, it’s just that and memes. Twitter is much closer to your Google+, and Threads in no way will be anything like that from what I’ve seen of it over the past few hours

Instead of developing it further they forced plus logins onto youtube, and after struggling for a year with that, and seeing no meaningful adoption, they rolled everything back, and then sunset Plus.

It also seems like a problem for anonymity. On Twitter, I can create multiple accounts and I can stay anonymous if I like. I don't know about IG, but FB only allows one account. I don't want my info leaking somehow. I also have a very different Twitter space from my FB space. Though my IG is also different from my FB.

Same with the App Store. Apparently the app is going to collect health and wellness data about me. Wonderful.
How can this be legal? I'm pretty sure that in order to legally process health data, an entity must have a plausible reason for doing so, at least in some jurisdictions. What could that reason possibly be for a social media app?
Just think about the rich data they could collect in 2023! Tracking changes in your heart rate and sleep quality on the basis of your app use!
