To everyone saying it's because of a shortage of "high value" partners or whatever, put the MGTOW and FDS down and look around. Marriage is expensive and divorces are expensive. Financial independence and liquidity these days is valuable, maybe even more valuable than the marriage tax break. If you don't care about marriage in a religious sense I personally feel like there isn't much incentive to be married anymore, especially when so many people are renters. What community property is there to share?

You know, I see this sort of inequality apologism in every one of these threads, but people sure seem pissed off at the system for some reason or other.

I’m not saying there isn’t bad wealth inequality. I’m just saying that it is very far from the worst in all of human history.

Given that there are still humans on Earth who live essentially as they would have thousands of years ago in hunter-gatherer or subsistence agricultural societies, you could also say that wealth inequality has only increased throughout human history and every day is worse than the one that has come before it.

This is almost entirely in your head. Just to be clear, I'm not saying to interrupt someone mid-run or talk to someone focused with ear-buds in. If someone is leaving the gym, you can say 'hey got a sec?', If they answer 'no', that is their answer. (Also, people who put makeup and tight pants on for the gym, are looking to be hit on. The people trying to be ignored, will put 0 effort into their appearance and will ha…

I'm not at all in the same camp as the other commenter (it's clear where their allegiances lie) but you really are in the wrong here. You have no idea how frequently these seeming-innocuous conversations turn verbally or physically violent when the initiator feels spurned. This is provable! T…

just out of curiosity, where do my allegiances lie? Interested to see how I come off?

Yeah, the gender that values education in a mate has never before, on average, attained higher levels of education. But women value education in men, and men have fallen behind.

I suspect that men are more likely to link education to income and opportunities - and the ROI for a lot of degrees has plummeted as tuition has increased. I don’t think women are as bothered by this and you can see this in the student loan data. 2/3 of distressed student loans in the US are owed by women.

Fun fact. Student Loan Debts are considered marital property in community property states. So her debt is now our debt and may become your debt in a divorce.

I've never met a person of the gender I'm attracted to that would reciprocate the selflessness and empathy that I joyously offer potential partners. I would rather keep my self-respect than settle for someone who won't meet me on my level.

Hey bud. Just an observation. You come off as a lot less joyful and selfless than you think you are.

Google MGTOW to understand some people's theory.

Men Going Their Own Way? The internet ideology of people that have been redpilled to realize that society has been made toxic for men (by feminist women who use sex as a way to control men), and that men should reject rampant gynocentrism and avoid engaging with women, or even with society at large? That MGTOW?

You’re just strawmanning. Not contributing to the discussion.

Of course nobody marries somebody expecting it to end in an unhappy divorce. The problem is that there are 2 single points of failure in a marriage, and you only control one of them. I can be the best husband I can possibly be, work hard, provide for my family, love my wife with everything I have, and otherwise do what I can to try to make her happy. However, if she choses not to reciprocate this, there's literally n…

I guess that's the magic of a marriage. You both change and you find out another way that you love them. Yo can look at it as a downside or as an upside.

Until your spouse turns around and whacks you with the legal system. I’m one of those who won’t marry because the law is just asinine and I prefer not to have my life completely destroyed. I saw what happened between my parents.

There are a variety of reasons this is happening. Most of which are political suicide to bring up. Se lets all enjoy the descent into a 3rd world state. If you wanna actually find yourself in a relationship, do what I did and travel to other countries. Contrary to the mainstream narrative perpetuated by american propaganda, most women outside america aren't "poor and uneducated and looking for a passport."

> If you wanna actually find yourself in a relationship, do what I did and travel to other countries. A lot of being single is tied pervasive poverty. For folks living paycheck to paycheck, how might they get to another country and then support themselves there?

this might get downvoted but honest truth,

if you're living paycheck to paycheck, get yourself out of that situation first. I know its harsh but you have no business contributing to a relationship till you're able to take care of yourself beyond the bare minimum. Not only that but you can take the most risks to change your status quo when you're single. you don't have anyone dependent on you and no one who's time you accountable to.

Basically if you're single and living paycheck to paycheck, suck it up, educate yourself and work on moving up in life before I try to bring someone into your life. Way too many people are stuck in life because they try to furnish a livingroom when they don't even have a foundation.

If we are going to consider every single person on earth at the same time, then the time of Mansa Musa would have to be the absolutely worse since he was wealthier than any person on Earth today. Heck, even if you combined every billionaire on earth today, Mansa Musa would still be wealthier than all of their combined fortunes by at least an order of magnitude.
