It’s ridiculous to spin being able to spend less labor in total for the same amount of goods as a bad thing for society. It is a Pareto improvement. If it leads to people being overall worse off, you should blame the governance, not “techies”.

This is the key. Globalism and Technology both make many things into a winner takes all game. Be the best* or be replaced by and algorithm, perhaps a generated one like ChatGPT. You are now both competing with the best in the world, and with whatever can be encoded into a computer, which one of the leading examples is ChatGPT.
I also imagine virtual assistants will be hit hard.

I expect the reverse: our tolerance for bland and generic messaging is already too high. With ChatGPT filling our world with it, there'll come a renaissance in clear, pointed, punchy text. Even if it's ChatGPT 5 or 6 generating it.
