Fast food usually picks up in downturns. It’s the fancier restaurants that lose business.

I don't think it's right to assume that fast food jobs are a hallmark of job security.

Local sim cards have very affordable data plans, also local number is often required for local services like PassApp transportation in Cambodia. For 199 baht/6USD I got 20 GB of data in Thailand. With international eSIM you may be behind double NAT and VPN may not work. My company VPN was not accessible.

the workers dont benefit from fast food picking up, just the owners, so fast food employees aren't buying iphones on the bet that its a fast food pick up time.

For the vast majority of Mac users, it’s a non-issue.

Since ARM-based Macs have shipped, the Mac has had several record quarters.

Your comment got a bit chopped up in the middle, did you mean something like "each year for the next 5 years"? Not sure how the math would work out though, half the price of the high end option is $500, and you'd need 2 mid range phones so $250. Maybe 1 on the condition working with custom ROMs and glued battery replacements is treated as $0/ignored.

I loved the freedom and flexibility of Androids but in the end the software lifecycles and the hardware have just fallen too far behind.

Apple sells some its phones for a higher price than their laptops. An iPhone 13 256GB is $800 and 13 mini 256GB is $700, a phone that 90% of people would not be able to differentiate between higher end models with.

Also, I have zero interest in upgrading phones or researching them. I want something that has a reputation of being a workhorse for years and stays out of my way.
