How far off are we from having drones that mechanically remove weeds at a reasonable cost? It's ridiculous that we put up with spraying sketchy chemicals on our food. We can build loyal wingman drones to kill enemy aircraft but we can't kill weeds?? Edit: I'm talking about farming, not lawns. RTFA

Monsanto settled a batch of civil cases regarding Roundup for $10bn. No one settle’s for that sum unless they’re guilty. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/24/business/roundup-settleme...
Behind a paywall so I can't see the details, but note that nowadays when you buy Roundup it has a lot more then glyphosate in it, and I trust that "a lot more" far less than if it was just glyphosate.

Why do you need to kill weeds? Adapt and stop having lawns.

Mister organic farmer, here is a plate of cow manure, eat it.
Safer than eating glyphosate (people actually do this).
That's why it's hard to take some "nature is perfect" people seriously
(of course it's dose dependant, but don't eat manure. period)

that's ridiculous it also messes up digestive systems, gluten intolerance. the chemical is BAD and does cause cancer.
Let me express my utter lack of confidence in your statement's connection to reality. The "gluten intolerance" should be a strong warning sign of Woo.
> Fish exposed to glyphosate develop digestive problems that are reminiscent of celiac disease. Celiac disease is associated with imbalances in gut bacteria that can be fully explained by the known effects of glyphosate on gut bacteria

This isn’t made up woo. It’s a real potential link that needs to be fully explored not dismissed.

I recommend you remind yourself of the HN rules. The evidence that glyphosate in fold causes cancer is currently really weak, albeit enough to convince a lay jury.
This is telling.

#80"Tied to cancer" in the sense of "if you torture data long enough, it will confess."
In a sense of here mister lobbyist this is a glass of perfectly safe glyphosate, drink it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QWM_PgnoAtA
