That might be your problem, not theirs. They could jail anyone they aren't sure about

It is not about the Kafala system, since even the West has similar systems. It is that they treat migrant workers that are not highly skilled specially from specific backgrounds bad.

UAE had the most vaccinated people. Except they only counted citizens, foreign workers didn't count. I suspect Qutar did something similar.

The title downplays this a lot. The first sentence in the article reads "Any extramarital sexual encounter (...) could result in a seven-year jail sentence." That usually means any sexual relation outside of marriage is forbidden, even between life partners.

It's also the case that if a couple isn't married then they need to stay in separate accomodation while in the country.
