And to add in a more geopolitical element, China is the rising power to western hegemony, and this is part of the west's image smearing techniques - pick an story that pushes a narrative you want against an adversary, and don't verify it thoroughly. Points like 'the US has bombed muslim countries for a decade and now they're suddenly like 'oh we love muslims'' still stand strong. Be aware of that.
