#662I'd buy one in a second if only it would support running vmware fusion - I still have to have one foot in Windows world, and not being able to spin-up and old windows vm is a deal breaker for me. (M1 chips won't support it). Sure hope my latest macbookpro with intel chip lasts a while, I fear it may be one of the last ones they make.

I'm assuming you can't run the Intel version of Windows or am I wrong and it is emulating an Intel processor?

And in this case, it's a 3.7" little thing that can process 18 streams of 8k video (fully specced out). As a programmer, data scientist and macOS user, I have to say I'm just annoyed by Apple these years. They've built a preset of users who may use their products, on that list are "Creative producers", etc. I'm not saying creative works aren't important - I personally enjoy poems, movies and photography very much. But just imagine how many MacBook Pros and other products Apple sell each year - does the world need that…
This “Studio” mac seems pretty ideal for programming to me.
I don’t really see how Macs generally are limited to “creative producers”. The computer doesn’t care if you’re compiling, running containers, or doing whatever it is that people do to create tiktok videos.

#665I'm kind of disappointed, Apple make such a big thing of being green but keep making machines that aren't upgradeable in these tiny form factors. I was really hoping for a more affordable Mac Pro with easily accessible memory/ram and some expansion slots.

I really wish they focused on bigger displays too. For music/video production having at least 2x27'' screen size is crucial. But two is kind of weird because you can't centre any app. And there is kind of too much...
I've never understood why 2x27" is supposedly "crucial" for music/video production. I had two large monitors for a while; eventually I went back to one slightly larger monitor because I found it was more comfortable and ergonomic to be staring at a single surface perpendicular to my eyes.
Personally, I want sharp displays with high pixel density. Multiple 5k / 27" displays offer that, a larger 4k or 5k display does not.

You could have stopped at video content. Or just content. I don't see how the platform that serves and broadcasts said content is relevant to the value or performance of the device it's made on.

You're right. I should've included other places for posting ~content~: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok.

Try and price out a PC with those specs, it will come in around $6k minimum, but much more power intensive and very very loud
What’s wrong with loud computers? You can have it die quick on you or you can have it loud. I prefer to keep machines in better shapes for longer.
For one thing, they're no good in a recording studio.
