#15I find the appeal to religious freedom contemptible. An animal does not suffer any less if it has to be conscious during its slaughter for religious reasons, rather than secular ones.

For instance, if you curse at your parents, the Old Testament calls for you to be stoned to death. This one is conveniently overlooked though
