Can somebody write an alternate reality series where UK gifts SG&SS islands to HKers who want freedom more than they dislike cold, and they build a new futuristic city there? Easy trade with Argentina. Middle of nowhere is not a problem in an Internet-connected world. No inhabitants to object. Better check water sources for that rat poison though…

#15Don't expect good internet service until Starlink has a few thousand of their v1.5 and v2.0 satellites (with the inter-satellite laser links) launched and operational. And "Summer / Winter Population: 32 / 16" suggests that the local cultural amenities, dating scene, and school choices may be, ah, "quite limited".

#16There was an expedition [0] to make the first land crossing of the Antarctic continent. The party's ship was stranded and subsequently destroyed by the ice. I won't spoil the story. I also recommend "Shackleton" [1] as a good drama with a quality cast that tries to keep as close as possible to Alfred Lansing's book [1] - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0272839/
"Shackleton's Captain" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1730698/

#17I've become slightly fascinated by Edinburgh of the Seven Seas [0], the most remote permanent settlement on earth. Who lives there? What do they do? What is life like? [0]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edinburgh_of_the_Seven_Seas
