Edit: I'm mentioning this, because I recognized a photo of a settlement (Grytviken) [2] in the article. The island is part of the story.

#3There was an expedition [0] to make the first land crossing of the Antarctic continent. The party's ship was stranded and subsequently destroyed by the ice. I won't spoil the story. Their epic ordeal was retold over and over, but there's a documentary that's really good. I think it's The Endurance (2000) [1]. Watch it if you get the chance. #6Can somebody write an alternate reality series where UK gifts SG&SS islands to HKers who want freedom more than they dislike cold, and they build a new futuristic city there? Easy trade with Argentina. Middle of nowhere is not a problem in an Internet-connected world. No inhabitants to object. Better check water sources for that rat poison though…
Doubt it, given that they claim it

I also recommend "Shackleton" [1] as a good drama with a quality cast that tries to keep as close as possible to Alfred Lansing's book [1] - https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0272839/
