It's definitely not ok. We've banned accounts for that in the past, and I warned that particular commenter as soon as someone pointed out the comment to me:

When an account is an established user and doesn't have a history of posting slurs to HN, we don't ban them immediately; we warn them first. When an account doesn't have an established history and is showing signs of using HN primarily for flamewar, we ban it. Accordingly, I've banned yours. Please don't create accounts to break HN's guidelines with.
None of the above varies by religion or any other identity group. It's common for people with strong affiliations with one group or another to claim that the mods are against them, but we aren't. This is simply how cognitive bias works on the internet. I've posted ad nauseum about this for years, if anyone wants more:
