I'll be honest, if someone described me as "scumbags who have tried to turn into spyware" on the issue tracker for a project I maintain, I'd probably block them too. That kind of language really doesn't achieve anything, and any issue-tracker is better off without it.

If you see the post from geofft, it could be argued the person filling in the issue was being precise and correct.

To make it clear, this would be them not you :-)

For what it's worth, the tone you struck in the submission here would have resulted in a removal of your comment on any platform I've moderated in my years on the Internet.

Constructive criticism is completely fair, but your entitled tone both on GitHub and here on HN, is inappropriate. I'm not at all surprised your issue was removed and you were banned temporarily.

Honestly, what are you trying to accomplish here? I'm struggling to see how any of this could be construed as "constructive" at this point, and I'd be surprised if this HN submission doesn't get flagged out shortly.

I think the point of GP is that you are not helping yourself here. I think it is evident from the initial reaction here on HN that you are throwing away much of the goodwill of many who would have supported your position in the first place.

They may actually be scumbag and they may have lost the right to bot be called one, but calling them such in issue tracker is still not constructive.
